Fees Required To Be Paid

The fees required to catch any types of wildlife or birds or bacteria pursuant
a. The chief may recover the required fees from the applicant by making a condition that the whole required fee or its fifty percent to be paid at the beginning and remaining after catching the wildlife
b if any wildlife or birds died during hunting it shall be numbered as hunted and fees required for them shall also be paid
c If Chief officer has know that, who has received the license to catch any wildlife or birds has been unable to catch any wildlife or any wildlife or bird has not died or been injured during the catching he/she shall return up to seventy five percent of the amount of the fees that has to be paid by the licensee.

About Injured Wildlife

The hunter injured to the wildlife during the hunting, it shall be killed by finding out as early as possible and the detail of such injured wildlife shall be mentioned in his/her hunting register. If the wounded wildlife has not been founded it will counted as the hunted wildlife

No more than one hunting license at a time shall be issues to any person. But the rule will not be applied for the Complementary hunting license and bird hunting license
Complementary hunting license issued to the license of General hunting license to hunting animals ( Great Tibetan Sheep, Swamp Deer, Leopard, Himalayan Beer, Sloth Beer/ land Bear, Himalayan Thar , Blue Sheep, Himalayan Goral, Spotted Deer, Wild boar)
Bird hunting licnse issed to Nepalese and foreign citizen to be remained valid for the whole open season for the hunt the birds ( Bengal floricon, Kalij Pheasant, Partridge, Jungle Fowl, Quail, water Duck and Chakhewa, Dove, Pigeaon, Spine, Red, Legged Patridge )

If a crime has been made against the license or permit issued as pursuant to these Rules, then during the proceeding of the case related to such crime, the competent officer having jurisdiction hear such cases may issue an order to suspend the license or permit obtained by the culprit till the decision has not been received on the submission that been made before the Government of Nepal
About Hunting Register ?

Hunting license shall consist a hunting register in which the full and accurate record of all wildlife and birds that has been injured or killed by the license during the course of hunting shall be mentioned. The place, date, species, male, female (for wildlife only )of each wildlife or birds, that has been killed be clearly mentioned with the permanent ink in the hunting register ( Schedule -12 ) and within the twelve hours of the killing of animals or birds or prior to leaving the hunting reserve.

District Hunting License ( Anugaya Patra)

The district hunting license may be issues only to the Nepalese citizen by taking the fees as prescribed rule. The district forest office may issue such license making validation for ten days and the person receiving such license shall be allowed to hunt the following maximum number of wildlife and birds in the prescribed area, not exceeding the maximum number as in the case of the wildlife up to three and in the case of the birds up to ten in total.

Any one receiving a license shall not hunt any wildlife or birds in the following situation:
- If the female is pregnant or with newly born ( young ) offspring,
- During the restricted period for hunting
- in the night time ( the time after the half an hour of sunset to before the half an hour of sunrise)

Hunting License To a Foreign Citizen

Issuing hunting license to a foreign citizen, a condition may be imposed by allowing him/her to go for hunting only with the professional hunting license holder.
If the license officer had realized that any foreign citizen has the ability for hunting without assistance of professional hunter and he/she has been generally acquainted with the act and the rules that has been framed under the act, an exemption may be provided to go for hunting even without the company of professional hunter

The license may issues to a Nepalese and foreign citizen to be remained valid for the whole open season for hunting, by taking the fees pursuant to schedule-1 and the license shall be allowed to hunt the birds mentioned as follows and note exceding the five in number in a single day. In the case of spine (Chaha) and Quail ( Battai) in number may be hunted in a single day.

License To Catch The Wild Boar in Nepal

If any Nepalese citizen has submitted an application to catch the cub of wild boar from other are than the area of a National Park or a Reserve, the concerned D.F.O or chief may issue a license in the format prescribed in Schedule- 12A by taking one hundred rupees fee for each cubs of wild boar from such person.
The wild boar to be caught as pursuant to the license shall not be allowed for export
if a wild board has died which catching in accordance with the license no other wild boar shall be allowed to be caught instead of that on

Prohibited Techniques for Hunting in Nepal

Without written order of the chief any person shall not hunt a wildlife or birds by using the following techniques
1. waiting (prowling) in the place used for drinking water, licking salt or soil or taking a bath
2. using any type of trap like darja, damal (tying rope), jaal (net), dharap, (obstracels), khor(cage), or paso (hanging rope)
3. feeding poision or tranquilizing drugs,
4. Using poisonous arms and ammuniation
5. Tuning (blowing) leaves or calling with artificial mimetic voice or playing tape-recorder.
6. Waiting (prowling) in nest or abode
7. Lighting torch or lights.
8. Making a scaffold or a hiding car, jeep, truck, lorry, tractor, airplane, helicopter etc
9. Setting fire in any type of grass or forest with the motive of hunting
10. Taking the help of a dog in hunting a wildlife or taking the help of a domestic bird for the hunting of birds

Arms and Ammunitions which prohibited to use

During hunting, following arms and ammunition are not allowed to use for hunt:
1 Automatic rifle or any type of weapon which fires multiple bullets in the single trigger
2. Arms and Ammunitions with poisonous materials or explosives bomb.
3. Weapon assembled with a silencer.
4. A rime fire of 22 bore.
5. An air gun or a carbon dioxide gun
6. All types of Pistol or Revolver
Note: Hunting of any type of wild animals execpt than the Rehsus Macaque (laguna), Barking Deer( Red Deer), Goral (Ghoral), wild boar (Banel) and birdd; any type of Shotgun, Bharuywa gun, rifle with a smaller bore than 22 bore ore lesser power.

Hunting Guide License ( Anugya Patra)-Nepal

'1. The concerned district forest controller may issue a hunting guide license to any person on the basis of the following criteria by talking the fees as pursuant to schedule -1 and such hunting guide license issuing officer shall send one copy of such license to the chief:-
a. if it has been realized that the applicant is acquainted with the wildlife or bird hunting with the area where he/she has been desiring to work
b. if it has been realized that the applicant has knowledge of the act and rules framed under the act as well as he/she is competent to perform the job of a hunting guide.
2. The person obtaining the hunting guide license pursuant to sub-rule (1)k shall be allowed to perform the job guiding the hunters only in a district or the district prescribed in the license.
3. The chief or any officer assigned by the government of Nepal for that job if deemed necessary, he/she may prescribe additional terms and restriction that has to be followed by the person receiving the guide license as pursuant to sub-rule (1) and such license shall not be allowed to hunt any wildlife even in any circumstances except for self protection or to stop the wounded wildlife from escaping. which has been injured by the person obtaining the hunting license.
