Bhutan


The second populous landlocked country in South Asia, Bhutan is located in the Eastern Himalayas. The landscape in the country ranges from subtropical plains to sub-alpine Himalayan mountains up to 7000 metres, Gangkhar Puensum being the highest peak. With the population of Buddhism based identity, Bhutan strongly preserves Buddhist theocracy. 
Bhutan welcomes large number of tourists averaging million per year. The country has no UNESCO World Heritage Sites till date but has potential sites such as Drukgyel Dzong Bumdelling Wildlife Sanctuary, Dzongs: (Punakha Dzong, Wangdue Phodrang Dzong, Paro Dzong, Trongsa Dzong and Dagana Dzong), Jigme Dorji National Park (JDNP), Royal Manas National Park (RMNP), Sakteng Wildlife Sanctuary (SWS) and Tamzhing Monastery. Bhutan is still seeking to be the touristic destination hub and attracts everyone for mountain adventure trekking and hiking.
