Kanchenjunga Region

Kanchenjunga list itself in the group of Eight-thousander. Kanchenjunga is bound by Tamur River in the west, Lhonak Chu in the north, Teesta River and Jongsang La in east. Kanchenjunga stands for east-south of Mount Everest about 125 km. Massif Kanchenjunga has manily five peaks, among five three lies between North Sikkim and Nepal. The remaining two peaks lies in Taplejung District. Kanchenjunga "Five Treasure of Snow" worshipped by local of Sikkim and Nepal. The British expedition in 1955 by Joe Brown and George Band first climbed the Kanchenjunga.

Kanchenjunga Conservation Area established in 1997 AD and it covers 2035 km2 in the Taplejung District. It is protected area in the Himalayas of eastern Nepal. The Kanchenjunga Conservation Area encompasses, Qomolangma National Nature Preserve in Tibet Northern section, in the west Sankhuwasabha District, in the east Kangchendzonga National Park in Sikkim. The Conservation area works with WWF Nepal and International Center for Integrated Mountain Development. It is mentoring under the Department of National Parks, Wildlife Conservation, Ministery Forests.
The rare species, mammals the snow leopard, red panda, Asian black bear and birds include the golden-breasted fulvetta, snow cock of this creatures.
